The Dudes started writing this song together at Devon’s condo in DC in September 2018, when Nick and Jonas flew in to help Devon with a charity gig at the 9:30 Club for Law Rocks. We got as far as the opening lick and some of the music but had not started writing lyrics. Nick died three weeks later. When we got back to work on the music about a year later, we decided to make this song about Nick. We used some old gig audio recordings to include Nick’s voice at the beginning and in the middle of the song. It is an intensely personal song for us and we hope it resonates with you too!
